You'll need to meet with the priest/ and go to classes every week it also depends on the priest, our local one wouldn't christen my brother at first as my mum and step dad weren't married in a church and my step dad wasn't religious xx

@beccastirlingx, no it should be fine Hun as long as you have a decent priest our one was a wanker he even told my mum and step dad they're disgusting for even having children and not being married through a church as long as your fine to go to church every week and prove you will bring them up in the Catholic/church if England or whatever church your go through and go by what they ask majority of the time they will be happy and willing to do it :) xx

Hey hun I'm gonna get my little boy christened and I'm a single mother too. I googled the other week regarding what ya need to do to be able to get your baby christened. According to the Church of England website you don't need to be an active church goer nor does it matter about if you are married or not etc basically says everyone is welcomed to be christened xx

You could get him blessed instead? It's basically the same as a christening, only without the holy water and giving the baby a religion. I have had both of my boys blessed, they do it at the church and you can still have God parents. All you need to do is contact the Minister of the church and speak to him/her about it. The Minister here is lovely and we had a great service xx
