@alana_sunshine, I know!! I tried to tell him that and he said it's all bullshit the Drs try to feed us, and I'm a sheep for wanting it just like everyone else. I'm so pissed. regardless, if I want it, I'll do it, who the fuck cares. ugh I'm so angry at him.

um... skin to skin isn't a fad. it's science. does he need proof? bring his ass to nicu. Babies who are held, have skin to skin, and are talked to and sang to thrive at better rates than those who sit in an incubator. If he wants to argue with that, I'd argue he's threatened by the potential maternal/child bond because he had a crappy childhood...

I am the biggest kangaroo care advocate!!! I did so much research and read books on it as my daughter was born at 29 weeks. A mother (and only a mom) has the ability to regulate a baby's temp with skin to skin. It has been proven to help babies survive!!! Tell him do his own research before judging!!
