How often do I test if I use opk? and at what day in the cycle do I start?

My instructions told me day 11 for a 28 day cycle but I started using them on day 10. I got a positve on day 12 so I say the earlier the better. I think normally you would take them twice a day, but I was using 4 a day since my surge really only lasted a short time lol.

@mrsschmalz, @halibug okay. I'll be using the clear blue advance.. is there a way to buy extra strip without having to buy the whole kit again?

@mrsschmalz, I heard the cheap ones don't work that great. same with first response.

@halibug, I saw the kits but no refills for the strip except for the strip for the fertility monitor.. I'll be trying the clear blue first and if I don't get it on the first 2 month supply I might just start using the cheaper ones. found the clearblue for 26.99 though not to bad of a price in my eyes..

@mrsschmalz, oh okay lol. I just see a lot of women saying they were getting positives and then tested on the better tests and it was not positive. or the opposite saying negative never getting positive and then come to find out they were ovulating.. I'll try them out if the first 2 months of clearblue don't work out.. got the box for 26.99 seemed like a good deal since in store they're almost 65.

Sometimes the cheap ones work just as well as name brand. I guess it's really up to you and what you feel comfortable with. As you continue to test and get the hang of it, you'll know what you'll want to do/try if you need to get more tests. I used first response that came with 10 regular tests and 1 digital for $20 so that's pretty expensive in my mind. I wished I would have just got a bunch of cheap ones off amazon.
