well, the most important thing is that you and baby are healthy, there are always more jobs out there. if I were you I would at least meet once with a lawyer to see what they thought. it will all work out for the best in the end, try your best not to stress.

@maybabyboy, that might be what i have to do. I had my 1 year anniversary at work the day before they put me on bed rest so I am eligible for FMLA. I have already actually talked to my dr about going back to work 4 weeks after having the baby and she said no to that let alone an even shorter period of time.

@arachelle my manager keeps texting me also to see if I can come back. we were already short handed before I went on bed rest. I keep asking my dr cuz it doesnt hurt to ask and they keeps saying no.

I'm having the same problem at my job. I have only been on bedrest since Monday and my boss has texted me every day asking when I am coming back. ...what?

a girl at my work, who didn't qualify for fmla because she hadn't worked there a year yet, got fired for not coming back 2 weeks after baby was born. the doctor had NOT released her back to work, so she sued and won. they had to pay her normal full time salary for 2.5 years because they fired her when she had medical orders to not be there. you should see if you can get a free consultation with a lawyer and find out if maybe what your work is trying to do isn't legal.

@mamaberger, there has been other conplaints about her as well. My manager was yelled at the day before i got yelled at also. so my manager told me to call another HR lady that helps us out. so thats what i am going to do. im tired of getting the run around.

@okmimommy, that's crazy...sounds like the hr lady needs to loose her job since she can't do it correctly.

@mamaberger, there should be exceptions. Also the HR lady I have been talking to seems like she has her head up her butt. She never writes anything down so she keeps asking me the same questions that seriously never change, forgot that i called her to let her know i was on bedrest so she called me a few weeks later yelling at me then never apologized once I told her I have already contacted her and resend back all the paperworj I had to fill out over a week ago, she keeps giving me wrong info on what all I can do with FMLA cuz she keeps thinking im full time when im not, and doesn't give a crap that im on bed rest, having problems with my pregnancy and stressing out over that, but also now stressing out if I will be able to keep my job or not after I have my baby.

@okmimommy, that sucks. there should be exceptions for situations like this. it's so unfortunate the situations we have to face and there is nothing out there to help us.

@mamaberger, i have been on bedrest for a while now and im only part time with my job. they give me 12 weeks of FMLA from the time my leave started. from when my leave started to when the 12 weeks is up and I have to go back to work or my job isnt secure anymore, that will only be 2 weeks after my due date. so if i have my baby on my due date they expect me to come back 2 weeks later cuz thats when the 12 weeks is up and if my dr doesnt release me for that time frame then I could lose my job.
