Its completely your decision. I was the same exact way, at first I was dead set on getting the epidural then I was dead set on doing it 100% natural, now I am open minded and if the pain gets to bad my first choice will be IV pain meds before I run to the epidural. It depends on how bad your contractions are and how much you can handle. I'm also terrified I'll be too late for the epidural. My mom went into labor with me (the doctor checked her and she wasn't dialated at all and they set an induction date for the day she turned 43 weeks and she went into labor the morning of her induction and when she got there she was already 5cm dialated, and my hospital is 45 minutes away.)

Be ready to do anything and if u do change ur mind and have an epidural don't be bummed out ... My first I knew I was getting one her birth although traumatic was still relaxing and laughing and fun till she wouldn't come out they needed to forcep her out but still great thank God I had one ..with my second the epidural never took they tried 4 times and well I delivered him screaming lol .. So be ok with either and good luck natural can be done :)

just go into it that anything could change I was all natural with my first so I just knew I was gonna be with my second and I begged for the epidural then with this one I want natural but I am going into it with the attitude anything can happen ... but natural isn't as bad as people say it is if you don't have a long labor

There's a documentary on Netflix I think you should watch, called business of being born. It's informative on the effects of medicines in the delivery room, helped me decide how I wanted my delivery to go
