Do you still clean the umbilical cord with rubbing alcohol?

I did and after it fell off. My daughters fell off in 6 days because it's quicker when you clean it with alcohol. I use alcohol wipes and for after I did too because of the dried blood it leaves when the cord falls off

I was told to completely leave it alone unless something gets on it, then just basic water, gently with a clean cloth.

I was told to just let it be. It usually falls off within the first week.
