Mamas in CA, for the baby bonding time, do you need to take the 6 weeks straight? Or can you divide then within a 12 month period?

It's 6 weeks paid and 6 weeks unpaid but excused from your job.

But I believe the fmla is different than the pfl (paid family leave) (bonding)because that is only 6 weeks

Yeah it's called FMLA or family medical leave act and you get 12. At least that's what California gives for mothers. For fathers it's 6.

you can break it up within the year & it's 12 weeks not just 6

My husband was able to divide them into two three week periods! But I think you can break them up even more.
