who's done the gene chromosome test? is it accurate? does Medicaid cover it

Are you talking about the genetics test to test for downs and other genetic abnormalities?

It depends, I don't have Medicaid but instead I have Tricare and if they are anything like one another genetic testing has a greater chance to be covered if your doctor orders it because they see abnormalities in ultrasounds, you are considered high risk because of age (35 +), or baby isn't growing correctly and they need to rule out options of why. If you just get it just because you want to insurance can deny paying for it because it wasn't "medically necessary". I know this because they saw an EIF AND Echogenic Bowl on my son around 20 weeks and we had to have the testing done and I asked my doctor about coverage for it.

I have Medicaid now and I've also had tricare for 4 years lol. Tricare covered all genetic testing and so does Medicaid, I just had my genetic testing done. Insurance can not deny it, it is considered medically necessary for all patients, that's why the test is here. It's just they further test if you ping for any of the things you listed. @breannab

And no they are nothing like one another. Tricare is way better be thankful lol
