My son did that when we were trying to conceive another baby so one time we just let him cry it out because we knew he was fine he just like to cry but his crying went on and sounded like he was more hurt so we stopped and checked on him and somehow he got his fingers stuck in a dresser drawer . However he go a baby sister and a year after that he got another one .
