ohhh goodness, we will see how this works. I know Joe is going to think I only want to move back to Texas because of my momma but honestly Texas is my home and always will be. There is not one thing about Alabama I will call home. I'll give him time and until something happens to his grandma, but my baby will not be in school in Alabama, the two just don't compare. But on top of everything I want my daughter to have FAMILY, and she won't have that here... I want her to have the love that I had growing up my my momma, granny, and pawpaw but of course her daddy. I also think Joe is better off in Texas much better opportunities for him. I just have to figure out how to tell him thats what I want😳 Its been what I wanted since last May he knows I hate Alabama. I wanna go home.
@shelbyjo girl I hope so, Joe grew up in Elba so he knows the school system sucks especially after he met me, there isn't one thing Joe can say that I don't already know ( except for alabama history) it breaks my heart because he even admits they aren't real educated here. Texas has an amazing school system I went to Port Neches from K-8, San Antonio from 8-10, Baytown from 10-12 and they were all on the same level. I hope Joe realizes we need to do what's best for B at this point and the future littles we have, Education is a big thing I'm not okay messing with. But i believe as soon as his grandma passes I hope its not soon I want her to be apart of Brins life atleast a while but she's so sick:( He won't have anything here maybe he will come around like your husband did girl
@hermommy, I agree their school system isn't great even my SO who grew up there will tell you so. But he used to argue with me up and down that it wasn't until he worked for the school district I used to be enrolled in from 3rd til 12th (I graduated from a small down after I moved) and he was shocked at how far ahead Texas was compared to bama. But he had to see it for himself to understand. But we're the opposite of y'all from what it sounds like he left bama and has gone back only once and hasn't been back since, but he recognized that there's nothing there from school to work for him bc he's not that close to his family. I hope y'all come to an understanding about it all and if/when he comes with y'all it might take him a while until he sees everything for himself how much better it is to raise a child here rather than Alabama.
@kpaul21 I just dont like the state, so to me it'll always be the whole state. Even the best school districts here don't compare to Texas. Texas is my home and I know more about it there, just hoping I can get Joseph to see the truth so I don't have to leave him here.
I wouldn't necessarily say it's the entire state, but I do agree with you that there is major room for improvement in public education for Alabama. Personally, it's all about the area you live in. Thankfully my mom and dad moved out to an area before I started kindergarten that placed me in a good school system that definitely prepared me for college. Not every area is like that though, so like I said, it's more based on the areas rather than the whole state.
@nicemmcha2015 yeah see that's not okay with me not one bit, I was taught until your 22 school is life you complete it the best you can I dare my children to flunk out if they have the best education. I may have to strictly go that route with him with education if he truely cares that would be enough
I live in ga and our school systems are crap too. like crap to the point kids graduate with honors in high school yet flunk out of college like they never even went to high school. it's bad. I see your point there.
@showersoverflowers thats my thing girl, i even suggested private school here but there is no reason for that😳
@supermommy31082 thank you girl, I hope he sees it the same way... he is so stubborn but I don't think he will let us just go, I think he'd swallow his pride and go. He would have better Job opportunities over there not to mention its not big city I want to move too, I want to be where I grew up. Google Port Neches, Texas <3
I am only teasing. I have heard about the educational system down there and it is definitely alarming. Unless you're from an elite family in Bama, it sounds like you'd be better off going else where to raise your family. My kids are years from kindergarten and I'm already freaking out about school. I think we have decided to put them in private school and be poor hahaha
exactly he has to be a real parent and put baby first that's why I left Ohio I wanted my kids to have better education some men don't get it even though baby won't start school for sometime moving all over isint good for a child either if your already in Texas and stable you have no worries hopefully he does come around and do the adult thing good luck girl I know your pain my sons father accused me of keeping my son from him when I left Cleveland but I wanted my son to have a good chance at education sports and all Cleveland is a horrible place to raise a child and I'm so glad I left both my kids are doing so great here so I'll be praying for you your making good decisions for baby already that's key in being a super mommy
@supermommy31082 see that's how I feel, and my mom said the same thing 😳 I googled the difference in state education which I already know how Texas works, I lived there for 20 years but Alabama was so low I was embarrassed. I hate to say it but if he won't consider it there may not be an us and I love him so much😢 But he needs to do what's best for B, even he will tell you Alabamas schools suck. The college's don't but that's not the part that matters anymore.
@showersoverflowers no and when I say this I'm sure I'll upset some people, by the education rate is low,the state is poor because its full of people thag dont want to work and i swear its a retirement state. I get that this is considered the "deep south" but there is no reason to be that uneducated and i dont want my daughter and future children being that way😳 and my mom asked the same thing lol. It's full of trees like the movie though and run down places. That movie was filmed in alabama
I'm the opposite. I've tried talking to my husband to leave Nevada for a while and explore other cities but he doesn't want to. 😂😕
I hope so for all your little ones now and future. I'm sure he hasn't put much thought into it bc she's not in school yet or close to school aged. I had a few cousins like that then freak out a month before school starts and then worry. I'd give him another year or so before pressing the school thing again so he can adjust to being a dad and that mindset @hermommy
