I'm so pissed off at my mum! My cat has possibly gotten pregnant and my mum is saying we're too irresponsible to have a cat with a litter, yeah I get that it'll be difficult because our baby is due in 8 weeks and we live in a tiny flat but she is our cat, our responsibility and its our fault for not getting her spayed. She is suggesting that we get her spayed in the next week or two so effectively an abortion which I think would be cruel! I'm so so sick of her treating me like a child! I'm 21 ffs.

I don't think a vet would spay if possibility of pregnancy anyways, but its your cat and your decision on what you do with. Im sure you will do the right thing for you, baby and kittens. Mothers are like that, force opinion 😂 xx

Yeah, thats what I thought! Surely its cruel because the mother cats instincts kick in as soon as she is pregnant xx

Our cat had kittens a year ago yesterday, it was hard work but it's easier having kittens than puppies because the mummy does all the work, she even cleans up after them and trains them to use the litter tray! So clever! Just ignore what she says, if you think you can manage then that is all that matters. Oh and for the record, they won't spay her while she is pregnant but they will abort kittens if asked (I know it sounds so wrong) I know someone who had it done to hers 😧 xx

awww kittens are soooo cute @firsttimemummy21 and I'm sure they will go to good homes when the times right. it will be a fantastic experience for you and her.

@mich77, shes just incredibly controlling... I have 3 sisters who are quite a bit older than me and she cant deal with the fact she doesnt have a child to control anymore haha xx

the vet wouldn't just spay if there is a chance of pregnancy. they would give an injection to abort the pregnancy and then you'd have to wait for I think up to 6 weeks to then go and have the operation. it's not a nice thing to do and youre not even the one going through it x
