Hi Preggies!! I have decided that I want the most natural birth that I can possible have. I want to be fully in charge of my birthing process and want it to be an experience and something that I will never forget. I have been doing so much research lately about natural home births and natural births in birthing centers. I'm also currently reading Ina May's Guide to Childbirth and it's a refreshing new and insightful prospective on childbirth and it really resonates with me. Has anyone had a natural home birth or natural birth in a birthing center? How was your experience? Or do any of you plan on having a natural birth at home or in a birthing center?

@mommyofacountryboy, that's great you are considering a birth center! I recommend you take a tour of the birth center and ask all the questions you need in order to feel comfortable. A birth center is vastly different from a hospital and has so much to offer those seeking a truly natural experience. I'm sure you will make the best decision for you and your baby😊

I want to have a spiritual out of body experience and I want to feel empowered beyond measure during and after the baby comes and I honestly believe it will happen. Love and light to you😊

I gave birth at home unassisted with my husband, no medical professionals present, it was an amazing profoundly spiritual experience I would repeat again and again. =) you want the most natural and gentle birth that is the way to go. look up indie birth, it's a website that provides free information on all things natural birth and if you have questions don't be shy to ask

I'm doing natural at a birthing center. I tried with my first but needed iv antibiotics because of strep b and at the time the birth ctr couldn't do it but now they can so even if I test positive I'll still be able to. I wanted to do a home birth but only 1 of the midwives do it so they can't guarantee she'll be available when I give birth

@valrocks, I hear you and that's the purpose of planning out a natural birth at home or the birth center. Sometimes Complications do happen and of course it should be apart of your birth plan to include a hospital in the event that anything goes wrong. A natural birth is more than just being drug free it's allowing the mother and baby to fully go through the birthing process at their own speed and not interfering unless it's medically necessary. Women have been given birth outside of hospitals for centuries! We have been taught that A childbirth is not a medical emergency when it's the most of the most natural processes of creation. There are so many things done to babies after they come out of your womb at the hospital which is so unnatural. I just decided to look at things from a different lens and do a lot of research. I highly recommend you checking out the documentary "The Business of Being Born" on YouTube. It blew my mind away. Not trying to change anyone's choice just wanted to know if anyone else was considering it.

I'm all about a drug less birth but you never know what could happen and being at the hospital already is a wise choice. If you have a home birth and something doesn't go as expected then what.

yea im still trying to work it all out my dr is trying to convince me that the hospital is best but im just not sure... i have a cerclage in place and have to have it removed at the hospital at 36 weeks so he says it would be best there but im just not 100 % sure yet

@1sttimemom2be, thanks for your insight! Did you consider doing it at home with a midwife? Im 95% sure that I am going to a birthing center

Birth Plan Rant I used to be all about getting an epidural, but after research and thinking about it more I want to have an unmedicated birth (this is my first baby). What annoys me is when I say that I'm going to TRY my hardest to have a natural and unmedicated birth people always feel the need to say that I'm crazy or that I'm going to change my mind when I get in that position. Or that epidurals are the best. I do realize that plans change, but why can't people be supportive and encouraging?
