Slightly bummed we got pregnant the month after my 18 year old SIL had her baby...mainly because when we told my MIL she was just like "oh...okay."
At least it's my parent's first grandchild and they're beyond ecstatic!! 👵👴👶💓
Just stinks to not have that excitement on both sides sometimes. Esp when hubs is the one kid out of the family who is actually making something out of himself.

Haha that's awesome. I mean my parents took a few days to be like...not shocked.
But my MIL was just so nonchalant about it. Like "whoo..another grandkid."
Like..you don't have to raise this one lady, be happy daggummit lol

If it makes you feel any better all my in laws when we told them in 2014 we were pregnant asked if we didn't have enough. But 2 months later my husbands sister announced hers and everyone was over the moon excited. We have the same number of kids!!!!!! Well found out the day my daughter turned 8 months that we were pregnant again. Got nasty rude remarks about it. Same SIL found out she was pregnant again a month after me and she told everyone and they cried!!! I got my kids and got in the car and left. I was beyond mad. Maybe it was petty but I'm tired of the double standards.

Oh my gosh - I'm sorry @jenn61115 . Definitely not petty. I would've felt the same way. Double standards are overrated, especially when it comes to family/sibling comparison

And the best part my other 3 are spaced out. My husband and I had our oldest when we were 16. And split up after high school. Then 3 years ago we got married. So we have an almost 10 year old, I have an almost 5 year old, his other one just turned 5, and the baby will be 1 in June. We're due in October. SIL has an almost 5 year old, one that just turned 2, one will be 1 in July And due in November. And she has a 10/11 year old stepson. She's been pregnant with me 3 times. My husband has always been the black sheep in his family. I mean I love his grandparents they are super supportive and the sister that keeps getting pregnant. But the rest I'm sick of their mouth. I hope your in laws come around and get excited For you!
