My ob doesn't check for dilation. Does anyone else find that weird. I am 35 weeks !

Not at all, my doctor with my first never did unless in active labor because he saw it unnecessary and can up the risk for infection. some just don't.

@rhebee, lucky you! Haha. But are you sure maybe he will start checking at 36 weeks? My doctor hasn't checked me as I'm 34. I think he might start only because I was in l & d yesterday at a 2.

Mine said she won't start checking until 38 weeks, I was hoping to get checked sooner as I been having a lot of pressure n cramping. I was thinking of asking her if she could check earlier

My midwife doesn't check unless I go past 40 weeks. There is really no need for it. They can't do much about it whether you are or aren't dilating or effacing. I'm sure if you wanted them to and asked them to they would
