Hey peeps. Some advice needed. My partner wants to give our two month old some prune juice to help with his poo's. We've bickered about it as I really don't think it's a good idea at all. I know myself when I have a OJ it can sometimes play havoc with my tum. Opinions please x

just a small amount is ok. if you can get him to take it as its a strong flavour. i did it on midwifes advise with my oldest as he suffered badly. it did help a little but i couldn't get him to take much xxx

try moving baby's legs in a bicycle movement, prune juice is okay but pear juice is more effective, just a couple of ounces a day x

I wouldn't. first I'd look into what's actually causing the issue by way of speaking to midwives xx

instead of prune juice try warm boiled water and brown sugar @suzie31 xx

my health visitor advised me to give Harrison some at 2 months old. It's fine xx

I personally wouldn't, I usually just cycle his legs and it gets everything moving, are you breastfeeding? It's very normal for a breastfed baby to go a week without pooing x

@cayleighnatasha, @baby-2016 @tam77 @shanttc @jem29 I've done all the obvious ones, his poo's are too hard and need softening. It's caused by the Gaviscon for his reflux which is getting reviewed on Thursday by the doctor, took him off it but he's way too sick on it so needs constantly topping up. I just need something to get him by until Thursday. Xx

I second @baby-2016 advice, when my daughter was really bad with constipation I would give her warm boiled water with brown sugar and used to do the trick, but if you have tried that then couple of ounces of prune juice should be fine, midwife normally recommends it xx
