I tested positive for GBS, makes me nervous. how did I get it? and is everything going to be okay with my baby?😢
Group B is a natural bacteria we all carry in our bodies. People who test positive have more of it in their vaginas than the normal levels. The bacteria can travel to baby during delivery, so that's why they test. If baby does it get, it is very dangerous. They will give you an antibiotic through an IV during labor, so it doesn't travel to baby during delivery. It really isn't a big deal at all, as long as you receive the antibiotic!
@jazmine96 dang sorry lol I'm tired I totally misspelled every thing but no problem:)
I had it with my first & it caused absolutely no complications, just had to receive antibiotics through iv during labor.
I tested positive to but I'm not worried since they give you the antibiotic to help during labor.
