I hate being in a room full of women who didn't breasfeed or were unable to and then ask me if I plan on it and when I tell them yes I want to they tell me how hard it's going to be. I know it's not easy at first but it's something I am going to try and stick through with.

I know it's terrible how negative people can be! Instead of being supportive no matter what!

being a mom is hard breastfeeding is just another hurdle some people are lucky to be able to with no problem others struggle with it and alot can't but your going to be a mommy and that's hard all the way and many people will have their opinions on everything you choose to do just stay positive and let it roll off your back :)

me too! "you're going to hate it" like just because it didn't work out for you doesn't mean I'll hate it!

seriously it's not as hard as people make it out to be. I breast fed for the first month and it was a piece of cake. the hardest part is having to pump all the time and you have to give your baby a LOT more attention because not only are you his source if food, but you also become his pacifier and it is exhausting. the bond you feel and all the benefits of breast feeding are well worth it in my opinion. when I found out I couldn't do it anymore because of a medication I was taking, I bawled. don't let people freak you out about it. I think you need to prepare yourself for the reality of it for your own sake, but people who haven't done it can't help you do that. you can't imagine the different emotions it will put you through until you do it. the good part about it though is if you decide you don't want to do it anymore, then don't. I was bound and determined to breast feed and I didn't even consider the possibility of not being able to. I was terrified of formula. I have this problem where I want everything to be natural. but in this day and age, that isn't always possible and I learned the hard way. I won't lie. there were nights I cried and said I can't do this! why am I doing this?? prepare yourself for cluster feeding. whatever it is that helps make your milk peaks at night and it attracts your baby like a magnet and all he wants to do is eat and eat and eat and eat and eat... and like I said, you will also be his pacifier. I am not by any means trying to scare you away, I just want you to be prepared because no one prepared me for that and it was the hardest part. I fed my son for 5 hours straight one night and by hour 3, I was crying and begging him to sleep. all that other stuff people say is going to suck, doesn't. like the myth that breast feeding hurts. not true at all. what hurts is engorgement. which won't happen if you are feeding him at regular times and pumping when you can't. your body knows how much to make and when, so just listen to it. you'll figure it out just like I did. good luck!! :)
