Am I seriously the only one who doesn't think it's cute when babies cuss? Yesterday my brother in law, MIL, and FIL all sat around saying 'Awh shit' and 'Awh fuck' while my 16 month old niece repeated it. I don't find it funny or adorable at all.

I won't lie the first time my god daughter cursed I laughed, but after that it was no longer funny. I started popping her on the hand. It's one thing when you're an adult, but children should know their place as the child.

I don't either. If the parent laughs and thinks it's cute and funny now, the child will continue to do it. It's not so funny when your kid or teenager has a foul mouth. It's embarrassing. and inappropriate.

I know I just sat there with this disgusted look on my face. Lol my husband caught it. That's all I can think about @theinkedmommy ..kids get kicked out of daycare for far less than cussing. How much sense does it make to allow something when they're learning to speak, then reprimand them later in life for a habit that the parents caused?! Blame it on hormones but I get so mad. It's not good to reinforce that negative behavior (cursing) and smiles and laughter is what that does. Not acceptable and I don't think It's cute at all. My 4-year-old wouldn't know a curse word if she heard it because she's not around it. I'm grateful for that!

@godsjoi, exactly! She kept saying it because everyone was laughing and clapping like she did so well. Let me catch them doing that with my daughter and we will have a problem.. In my eyes, grandparents are role models and should behave as such.

I would tell all of them immediately not to talk like that around any of my children regardless. You can't exhibit a behavior and expect a toddler not to learn from what they hear and see.

Ugh I sometimes swear around my kids but they know that they are not allowed to say "adult words". My 6 year old even reminds me when slip up. 🙄
