my baby was born at 40 weeks and had poor muscle tone which transfered to his oral muscles. it was a long haul. I nursed exclusively. I had to pump on one side to get a let down because his suckling reflex was so poor. eventually my milk dried up and we had to use this contraption that clipped onto my shirt and a tube ran down over my nipped so that he could still get nutrients that way. We also did speach and physical therapy pretty early and his oral muscles eventually caught up
