idk what world this girl lives in but an oversupply is not good.. for mom or baby -____- but can't explain that to someone who is only told by society that milk is amazing

Over supply does nothing good for baby or Mommy!! It can make a very fussy baby and painful for Momma. Why don't moms get that? Hospitals need more education on BF as well because I think their methods make it easier for moms to get an over supply

I'm always careful to explain to everyone it is NOT normal to pump 15oz of milk in one sitting. and it's not normal to have a huge freezer supply.
I have a large freezer stash, and I pump 15oz in one sitting. but I only pump 1 time a day. my milk is regulated so that I pump a lot first thing in the morning but the rest of the day my breast are soft and comfortable and all I do is EBF. I don't leak, I don't get engorged, and I don't get mastitis or clogged ducts. and the only reason I get 15oz in the morning is because my baby only nurses on my right side at night due to torticollis. she's to tired to put in the effort to turn her head for my left side. so I pump my left empty and nurse on my left side 3 times in a row so my supply doesn't drastically drop from missing those night time feedings.
but some mommas local to me act like it's a compitition and think they need to pump all the time to build a bigger supply than me so they have a huge stash. so they can have lots of milk and donate just like I do. it's honestly so selfish.
but I just kind of giggle myself when they message me asking for advice about mastitis. and all I can say is "idk sorry. I've never had it, my milk has regulated nicely so I've never gotten mastitis due to oversupply."

@crunchymomma agreed. I'm on week 3 of my milk supply so I'm still regulating out. I EP and do very few baby to boob at night and during the day bc his mouth a little recessed and tiny. I pump every 2-3 hours during the day and 4 at night and get about 40ish Oz a day.. I produce a lot of milk for some reason but I'm also going to be donating to mommies in need. I'm starting to regulate out and get 6 to 8 Oz per session and in the morning I'll get about 11oz combined.

@quansmommyy, there are while host of problems with oversupply. oversupply causes mastitis, clogged ducts and soooo much more. it's just not good to intentionally cause yourself to have an oversupply
