if anyone is taking metformin for the first time or even been taking them I've been trying to avoid some of the unpleasent side effects I found that if I take them and wait a couple hours to eat or eat and wait a couple hours to take them that it helps tremendously I only get a little bubbly in my stomach rather then be running to the bathroom....may not work for everyone but something to try: ))) baby dust *****
