That's how I get sometimes too. She was dry nursing from 10-26 weeks and that was the worst. So painful and uncomfortable. We are down to morning and night nursing now. I hope to have her weaned by the time baby brother gets here.
@brebaby914, I'm just about 4 months pregnant and still nursing my 18 month old. I get aggravated with the feeling of him sucking so I'm finally getting down how to limit how long and how often he nurses with little to no fuss.
It's very important to just nurse, nurse, nurse. Don't take offense to people telling you that the baby is eating too often, people who aren't familiar with breastfeeding will tell you that. Not true! They nurse so much to build up your supply.
So in the beginning it's all about nursing on demand. Every hour to 2 hrs to build up your supply. I wasn't able to actually pump excess until about 2-3 months in. Drink a ton of water and Gatorade, eating oatmeal helps with supply, making sure you get enough calories and protein too 17:12
How do you keep your milk supply sufficient? I'm breastfeeding my newborn and its obviously milk enough to fill her up but when I pump I barely get anything
