I told my parents that I am pregnant and they took it much better than I thought they would. But I'm so so so uncomfortable with talking about my pregnancy with them at all. I am fine with talking about it with other people, eager to actually. But when it comes to my parents I wish they just wouldn't talk about it at all. Has anyone else ever experienced this feeling? And if so will I get over it? I hate hearing my dad say the word "pregnant" or "pregnancy" even though I am comfortable and excited about the fact that I'm pregnant. I hate it when my mom brings it up at all. I just want to scream at them to shut up. I don't know what to do about this.

yes. unfortunately my dad passed away when I was pregnant with my 1st at 8 weeks.. but with that pregnancey snd this one I can't stand my mom or grandma to ask me questions about it. I get really uncomfortable.. like could crawl in a hole and hide uncomfortable. like everytime I go to the dr and my mom asks "did you get a good report?"and I'm just like if there was something you needed to know id tell you. that question makes me feel weird. but I think my issue with it is growing up "sex" wasn't something ever discussed or talked about. I didn't learn about that from my family. I learned about that at school. they made private things like that really uncomfortable. even periods ect. never was taught by them. it was all they school and friends. sex and periods and those kind of things were like a hush hush subject.

@nicemmcha2015, I feel the same way, like I want to crawl in a hole and hide. And I also feel the same way that if want to discuss it, or if I have something to tell them then I will on my own merit. But I could never ever ever tell them that. Ever. They would lose it.

@sashleythomp, mine would too. like it would hurt their feelings really badly and I wouldn't on purpose. plus I'd get the "you just don't want us to know anything" speech. but like its my body, my baby, why do you want to know every little thing? what's it matter what my bp or her heart rate was? lol its fine and that's all ya need to know.

I love talking about it with my mom! I'm 10 weeks and she has already bought a crib and a changing table! I think she is a little excited too.

I have the opposite problem. My dad hasn't acknowledged my pregnancy one bit since he found out, not at all. Like I'm 8.5 months pregnant so it's pretty noticeable and he's still asking me to mow his lawn n stuff

I wouldn't shut out the people I may need the most. Your Mom can relate. She was pregnant before. I would quickly get over that.

I think the discomfort comes from them knowing you're having sex lol. That was my issue, anyway. But after the first pregnancy I was like ehhhh whatever.
