have any mommies done skin to skin care after labor? if so, what was it like? do they clean the baby…

They put my son on me immediately and wipe him off as he's on me. It's amazing 😊 and my son latched pretty good the first time

@edomke, oh ok I didn't know they clean them while they're on you! I wanna do it and hold my baby immediately but I'm not sure if I wanna be covered in all the goop lol. I also read somewhere that when you do skin to skin your baby tends to cry less and latch easier...is that true for you?

I also had him put on me immediately too & it's the best thing you will ever experience & is the best feeling ever. as soon s my SO & dr banded me him, I cooed him & he stop crying and he did latch on right away. you don't even think about the goop on you. all you would focus on is your baby:)

@katnichole17, lol I'm sure I won't think about it. I just thought that you either had to hold them with the goop or have them cleaned and swaddled before you could hold them, I didn't know having them cleaned while you hold them was an option so that's very good to know. when your baby latched did he do it uninterrupted or did you help him get to your boob?

I had my daughter put directly to my chest when she came out. It was so amazing they wiped her off when she was on me. The goop isn't that bad. I took a shower a few hours afterwards. The connection was so amazing. All she wanted to do was stay on my chest. And she latched on so good the nurses where amazed.

He latched on uninterrupted while at the hospital but that changed once we got home but that's just my son

I did skin to skin immediately and they just cleaned her off while she was on me. They left her on my chest for about an hour and then let daddy take her and bathe her. And she latched on pretty well by herself.

The only way they won't lay your baby on you immediately is if there is something wrong with the baby. You won't care about the goop and you shower usually within a hour after he came out well I did because I went all natural so I didn't have to wait for the epidural to wear off
