Has any mommies has experiences with their LO having a heart murmur?
Has any mommies has experiences with their LO having a heart murmur?
Our baby was born at 36 weeks and has been in NICU since birth (a week) due to swallowing fluid and had fluid in his lungs.
That is cleared up now we are just waiting for his oxygen to stay up and not drop any. He's off the oxygen now and was going to be able to come home this weekend.
The nurse just called and said his oxygen was dropping a little again and may have to be put back on oxygen. :( Also, they believe he has a heart murmur and I'm terrified.

my son had one when he was born, most heart murmurs go away completely by the time their one, honestly she should have explained that to you instead of simply saying they think he has one.theyll do an echo and make sure what kind it is and if he has one. there's nothing special they can do unless it's one of the bad ones, my son's 4 months and had the pfo I believe is what it's called and it's almost healed completely on its own. hang in there momma :)

@wayloncruze12.1, thank you!!! makes me feel somewhat better! :)
it's just he's been in the nicu for a week and a half bc of his oxygen peaking, I really don't want this to set him back from coming home. I've been so depressed today after hearing this. They are doing an echo tonight and are suppose to call me with the results. I pray it's good news!

There's like 3 differnt types that will go away on there own. Fx it's one og those, but it didn't set him back on coming home, hopefully you get to bring your son home soon!

@wayloncruze12.1, that's so wonderful to hear! I feel so alone right now. my husband is so wonderful and has been very comforting but I still feel alone today for some reason. I think what's setting him back is his oxygen level keeps peaking but their wondering if its from the murmur :(

I wpuldnt think it would be, but I could be wrong. hopefully it's nothing serious :)
