yes.. well sort of haha.. so I went in to get induced and the gave me cervadil (a pill they insert to soften your cervix first ) well it sent me straight into labor on my own and no pitocin needed! had my son in 7 hours from the first contraction to holding him in my arms!
Well, I wasn't induced, but my daughter got stuck in my pelvis and I started to have irregular contractions. They gave me Pitocin and it helped to regulate them until they got me into surgery for an emergency c-section. I hear it causes the worst labor and pain to be induced, and you are more likely to end up with a c-section..but, it helped to keep my daughter alive until I was able to have the surgery.
I just had Pitocin April 2nd to deliver my daughter. They started the drip at 6 am and my daughter was born shortly after 12 noon. The really intense contractions did not set in until about 10 am. All in all, it wasn't bad....the more they increase the dosage your body reacts strongly. I guess they taper off the dosage too - I thought I'd have her ASAP once they began the drip but that wasn't the case.

Did you have any side effects from the Pitocin?? And how many cm dilated were you when they began the pitocin ? @8yearsapart

Nope, no side effects. I was 6cm when they started the Pitocin.
