I used coconut oil during my first trimester but stopped after that. I think I just got lucky. Most doctors say that lotions and creams won't really do anything except make the stretching less uncomfortable and that whether or not you get marks just has to do with your genetics.
I'm on my third pregnancy, and I don't have any. I use coconut oil and raw Shea butter to keep my skin moisturized. Staying hydrated with lots of water also helps your skin from getting dry, itching, cracking, and stretching.

I got mine around 33 weeks. all of a sudden they decided to show up 😑

I started getting them 2nd trimester, in every place except my stomach. I still don't have any on my stomach yet.
