I wanted to go with a midwife but I was only put on a waiting list. Not enough midwives in my area for the demand I guess. happy with my OB so far though. Have you watched the doc, The Business of Being Born? it's on Netflix if you haven't seen it already. Great info in it on the midwife side of things.
midwife! super knowledgeable, they go to school forever to specialize in birth, they tell you all the options and give all the info and then let you make the choice, all the same check ups you would have with dr, you know they will be the one to deliver you, in fact mine is coming to my house to help me labour here, then She will take me to the hospital when she thinks its time, and they do 6 weeks of check up afterwards...ny midwife has 40yrs experience

everyone has different preferences. I was with my family doctor and then I had an ob. friend of mine went with midwives and was happy.

last pregnancy was with Doc, this one with a midwife, wanting more appointments and oversight :)
