I got my Mirena in 5 days ago. I bled for a day or two. It stopped. Now its back and Im passing clots. I havent had a period since giving birth on Feb 16th, because I breastfeed exclusively and apparently I am not supposed to get one until I stop breastfeeding. So what the heck is going on???

You can get one before you stop breastfeeding. I did.

I didn't know either. But yep, it's not super common for it to come back, but it does happen. And it's super common to bleed for a little while after getting the Mirena. However, if the clots are pretty big you may need to go see your doctor.

@unbecomingme, Huh. I was told by my midwife's assistant that it wouldnt come back till I stopped so I was under the impression that it wouldnt. But thanks again! And the clots are small, but they exist nonetheless, so it made me nervous. Thanks for answering ☺

No problem! And don't be surprised if it's still sporadic. Mine used to be every month at the same time. Now it's every 2 months and I never know when it's coming lol

You're not supposed to bleed while breastfeeding unless you get an IUD put in I believe. I've had a period ever since I got my IUD in.
