@nessa_475, it is the ligaments that keep your pubic bone in alignment stretching and loosening. It is only supposed to happen during labor to help your body prepare but apparently 1 in like 300 pregnant women get it early on and it causes a lot of pain walking or particularly doing anything on one leg -getting dressed, getting into a vehicle or even turning over in bed. The worst part is the ligaments can actually separate completely and you have to give birth by c section plus you may have to deal with the town ligaments medically post partum. Which likely means another surgery. I'm going to ask my doctor about it Monday and see if they can confirm it and if there is anything preventative I can do to help it heal.

@mommy971516 lord I hope it isn't bed rest for me! I definitely take a lot of Epsom salt baths though, it does help.

I've been dealing with those exact symptoms since maybe mid of 2nd trimester and it has gotten worse in this last trimester. the doc I see at the clinic, she isn't a birth doc she jus one of the docs in the office and she says its normal and told me it would get worse but she did not mention all that 😞 @kimberkatherine

Well I read more about it this morning, the first statistic I gave may be off- it is likely more common than 1 in 300 more of about 1 in 35 or so...but anyway general pains and joint pressure is normal but if you're experiencing pretty extreme/severe pain, I definitely recommend bringing it up to a doctor and asking for an ultrasound to confirm or rule it out. Because if you do have that ligament loosening, you can ask for them to recommend a physiologist who has experience with pregnant women. the physiologist can work with you on strengthening exercises and different methods to take away some of the discomfort. Apparently it isn't anything to be overly worried about but some rare cases can become much worse and lead to possible c sections and possible surgeries post partum for torn ligaments (again, that is RARE, so don't freak ) but I am going to request my dr have an ultrasound scan done and if that is the case for me, I'm going to ask for a physiologist to be recommended.

I also read that you're not supposed to cease activity, that exercise is actually important to continue as you don't want muscles to weaken even more but you should avoid anything jolting, bouncing and one-legged @mommy971516 although if your dr said to rest then I'd go with that :p
