I considered both those things but for me personally the IUD had way too many negative side effects. My doc told me to "expect to gain about 25 lbs with it" I was like 😳

@emkasting ewh omg. do you know much about Mirena? most stories I've heard have either been nightmare stories or no issue stories lol.

im thinkinh of doing the depo shot....i use to use the pill and i loved it but u have to remember to take it every day at the same time.

I have the Mirena I love it. the first 4 months was awful before my body got use to it I had a period 2xs a month that straighted itself out I had to have the strings cut back cause hubby kept hitting them but now I've had it a year and I haven't gained no weight my periods are becoming light again and I don't cramp anymore

@Mrs.rcleveland I could never do the Depo, I've heard 98% bad things about it and heard real stories of women having trouble conceiving for years after being on it.

@jdownin0511, try the pill only takes a week to get out ur system when u stop taking it and u can get the one where u dont have a period for three months at a time, thats what i was on and it had NO side effects at all.

@wyatts_mommy_0106 did you have a relatively easy time getting pregnant after having it?

@jdownin0511 honestly the only info I know about mirena is just what I've seen people on this app post. Like I've seen that people say they cramp really bad with it but since I can't speak from experience im not sure if it's temporary cramping or if it lasts a long time or what

I wasn't one it before I got pregnant I I got it after my son cause I have depo on and off for 4 years and it took me forever to conceive so I went with the Mirena

I loved the arm implant it's called implannon or nexplannon and it's awesome no side effects whatsoever for me

My friend had the implannon or the nexplannon and she had a very bad experience from it

you might have to just trial and error it find what works for you. the depo caused me to have a miscarriage when i was off of it for 2 years. i personally plan on trying the nexplannon, ive heard good and bad but mostly good.

I had mirena after my first son for five years and got removed to have my daughter. got another one put in right after her birth and after a few months I was having non stop discharge and pain down there. I went back and forth to Dr and finally got it taken out. I am pregnant a year and half later and now getting tribes tied after this birth. can't stand birth control now

but first time I had it experience was great. no periods the whole five years, no cramping and was pregnant within two months after removal.

be careful what you may consider, although birth control works different for everyone. i was on the mirena for 3 1/2 years and had the WORST migraines ever. On a happy note i didn't have a period. after being fed up with Migraines weekly i got it removed and had the paraguard inserted which is the same (just copper instead of plastic. mirena is VERY hormonal. with the paraguard my periods were very heavy and last about a week. i never really won with either of them. never hurts to try them and see what works best😊
