The United States is bogus as far as maternity leave! Norway and Canada both give up to a year paid leave and even the middle eastern countries that treat women like 2nd class citizens have paid maternity leave as a law! The usa does not! There's only 1 other country that doesn't. New Guinea I think. It really blows my mind that this country is so pathetic when it comes to certain things when supposedly we are the best in the world! (I think maybe that used to be true but definitely not anymore!)

If I could I would be a stay at home mom till my little girl is school aged, but unfortunately that is not in the books. I'd love to have more than 6 weeks at home with her. I'm trying now to save save save so I can take the full 12 and have money available for my bills and such

It's really sad that most ppl have to go back to work way before they're ready! I was back to work after 2 weeks with my first 3!! @schu35

I put in for the 6 weeks with my HR department, but I think I'm going to sit down with them and ask for at least 8 weeks. I know I'm not going to want to leave her, breaks my heart just thinking about it

Once my 8 weeks of leave is up I'm taking my 6 weeks of paid bonding then not returning to work I've been out of work since 30 weeks with paid disability that they turned to maternity leave once I hit 36 weeks
