So my mother in law lived with us and doesn't want to get the tdap shot. How should I feel about this? I'm personally upset and really nervous but don't know how to tell her she then cannot hold the baby or be in too much content due to me being nervous cause his immune system not being strong. Or am I just overreacting? I have the shot. My mom and dad do also. And my BF is getting his.

Nope it shouldn't be a problem just get the shot don't touch the baby until you get it

Then she don't wanna hold the baby simple you only doing right by ya child can follow a simple rule then oh well

Cause when the baby get sick who gone be stuck in the er and watching after a sick baby sure as hell not her do you have every right to make her get it

@kellynicole, yea but your baby doesn't get they're shots till a few weeks after they're born. And his mom is very difficult and will fight me

Then she won't be touching your baby. Period. I told my godmother the same thing & she didn't see my daughter until she was about 3mo.

YOUR the mother. it's YOUR child. YOUR decisions. If anyone has a problem with it that is not YOUR problem. You are doing what's right for YOUR child. I'm doing the same thing! If they don't agree to get it they simply won't be holding my son until afterwards.

It's your baby at the end of the day and if she doesn't want the shot then she should respect your reason as to why it is so

I really don't want to require everyone in a house hold to get it 😳 I didn't even know other people had to get it until reading this. So should I ask them to get it or not have them hold my baby until she's vaccinated. I'm so confused now. 😩 I don't wanna take something like that away from family but I want my baby to be safe

When you get the vaccine during pregnancy your baby also gets it so your baby won't get it a few weeks after birth

With my daughter if you didn't get the shot, you weren't allowed to hold her.
