Don't give up ! It gets easier if he was just born don't worry if he got a little bit of colostrum that's all he needs he's expected to sleep a lot don't think he's not getting enough it's such a great experience please don't give up its a little rough at first u may have pain just make sure he's latching right but it will go away and you'll be proud that you stuck with it

My daughter didn't eat until after her sponge bath in the hospital. She wouldn't latch before that. Maybe he will latch and eat a little more after he was washed up.

Tickle his feet and rub his back. I tried also brushing her cheeks to stimulate suckling.

at the end of the day it's your decision , as long as your baby eats!(: But I felt the same way with my 2week old in the beginning but I kept trying anyways & now I'm exclusively breastfeeding without any problems. it just takes some time to get used to. & my daughter did the same thing in the beginning lol she was eat for like a second then pass out mid feeding & I would get so frustrated. lol but I promise it does get easier 😊😊 Good luck with whatever decision you make! 😊❤

@momi2b4, I know we are told to wake and feed, my son was a heavy sleeper nothing worked so i pumped and stored and he ate good when he woke up and he has a good supply.

@surprise4, I never breastfeed any of my other kids because I would give up fast. but I'm trying to give this one a chance

@momi2b4, no matter what you do as long as baby is fed it will be fine. If you don't nurse you could pump and baby still gets breast milk
