Elainas weight is 1 pounds 5.2 ounces today. She had to go back on her other breathing tube today, they were having issues keeping her stats up, the ventilator is set at 33, which is where it was when they changed vents. There is blood vessel that allows blood to go around the baby's lungs before birth, this is supposed to close a couple days after birth but when babies are born this young sometimes it doesn't close. This is Elaina case and probably part of her breathing issues. They call this PDA. They will start with medicine to try to close it, if that is non-successful then there is surgery. Because of the medicine they will have to decrease feeds so she will get another IV. They are hearing a heart murmur so today they are going to do an untrasound on her heart.
