Did anyone else suffer a 3 degree tear while giving birth? I got taken to theatre just after having Oscar for stitches, it's now been 9 days and I still haven't been to the toilet (a number two) I've been taken all my medicine that's suppose to help me go but still very sore and uncomfortable, just wondering how long it takes to get back to normal

Took mine 2 weeks to heal and the stitches to come out/dissolve :) I was cut though. They say tears heal quicker. Are you on Iron? Take this stuff called Movicol..you dissolve it in water..tastes disgusting but works really well. It is a laxative :) Turns your poop into liquid/makes it softer Xx

Aw really, did it take you 2 weeks to have a pooh? @winterbaby95 I'm on iron, they've given me fiber gel which dissolves in water and they've given me some lactose liquid that I have to drink 2 shots a day of but nothing seems to be helping, I don't know if maybe it fear stopping me going because every other part of my body is telling me I need a pooh but my bum just won't let me (sorry for the TMI) Xx

Lactulose really isnt that good! I administer it at work all the time and it never works! Laxido drink sachets are good! Very similar to movicol x

It probably is the fear hun, I was terrified of going for one after my stitches (needed 14 with Jayden and I think 8 with William) but I was surprised that it didn't hurt at all. xx

Aw really? @zaralee71 I think I'm just thinking the worst and scared I'll tear it again, I'll try and not get get too worked up about it and maybe things will just happen! xx

You won't tear again, they have had about a week to heal right? so most of the healing will be done already xx

They will still be sore but most of the healing will be done now😊 you really don't have anything to worry about hun xx

@zoemarie Just relax and take deep breaths :) It relaxes the rectal muscles...also do some walking(gentle) :) Also gets things moving :) xxx I did a pooh the day after birth...because of the stuff they gave me when I was in theatre. Acted like a laxative! So I went to the toilet regularly for 2.5 weeks. Then I got constipated with the iron tablets. I was constipated for 4 days and it hurt a lot to poop..as it was quite hard and big...But then my family nurse recommended Movicol and it worked! xx
