do hiccups in the womb have any relation to hiccups after birth?

All my kiddies that had hiccups inside had them for awhile once they were on the outside too.

Well if it doesn't bother them it's actually super cute and usually doesn't last long... If it did upset them I would just nurse them and it would take of itself..

I've heard gripe water helps with hiccups ! It says so on the box too

My 10 month old had hiccups every time I would eat or drink anything the last 3 months up until she was 3 months old. Gripe water saved her. She hated hiccups. I think it says on the box they need to be a couple weeks old tho.

- my son (6 weeks old)would get the hiccups a lot when I was pregnant and he gets the hiccups now when he gets to cold, so I just either give him milk or cover him up with blankets to make him warm again... and if you do skin to skin that helps too

hiccups while in the womb means they are getting a lot of oxygen, so its a good sign. i am not sure about the relation to outside

@sierranichols, how do some babies get more oxygen than others? what factors play a role?

it just depends. some have to do with the mother and how much oxygen she is drawing in and sometimes it has to do with the umbilical cord.

when the doctors look at the umbilical cord make sure to ask them about the vessels and arteries in it.

it also has some to do with the position the baby is laying. way to make sure your baby is getting a lot of oxygen is to not cross your legs. if you sit on the ground make the butterfly pose with your legs. that way you arent cutting off blood flow to your legs.
