Yeah, they take bloods :) You will need to do a urine sample. They ask about your family medical history :) Yours and your partners :) Also give you your maternity note book and book you for your 12 week scan x

my first appointment was made up of filling out a lot of information about me... my health and history, they also took my bloods x

Take your bloods x

You won't hear babies heart beat at first app. All they will do is check your health back ground and your partners, check your BMI weight etc. Then possibly take bloods. I had some taken but other don't till later on x

Can't hear babies heartbeat till 16 week app usually x

Blood test is usually booked in afterwards depending on time of app because bloods need to be done early in the morning.. Both pregnancies bloods were done at a different appointment with a nurse not midwife xx
