Fun fact: since I have seen this discussed on this and other message boards. I had a c section on Monday the 28th and had been being told I wouldn't be able to drive for 2-6 weeks, depending which person you talked to. My doc cleared me to drive on Thursday when we left the hospital. The key was I declined all narcotic pain medicine. She said otherwise it would be 24 hours after all narcotics were discontinued. All docs are different so I encourage you to add it to your list of questions. It was a major one for me as a single mama!

I asked my Dr at my 1 week checkup about driving and he said as long as the narcotic had been discontinued for 24 hours as you said... because if you were to get in an accident and kill someone, even if the meds didn't play a role (since in some people they don't cause the drowsiness) you would be fines and go to jail for I beleive a year, which if you have an infant is a lifetime
