So I recently found out my daughter has a milk allergy. I breastfeed and supplement occasionally. The dr gave me some Allimentium formula and advised me to cut out milk for myself. It helped but now her diaper rash is coming back and she sounds congested a lot again. Can she be allergic to MY milk??

No she isn't allergic to your milk. Did you only cut out milk? Or all dairy products? Lactose does not pass through your milk.

Milk and ice cream. @meagansimone

You have to cut out all dairy.

Cheese and hidden dairy items as well

Ok ty. I feel so guilty now. But the information is helpful. @meagansimone

It's ok. She has a protein allergy not lactose intolerant, she can grow out of it though. You'll really have to watch what you eat.

Not that I want to quit breastfeeding but would it be easier and safer for her to just find a good formula and transition off the breast? @meagansimone

No, breastmilk is best for her.
