Growth spurts commonly occur at around 10 days to 2 weeks, at 3 weeks, at 6 weeks, at 3 months, and again at 6 months. The baby will nurse more frequently during a time of rapid growth and not seem satisfied. After nursing frequently (okay, all the time) for a few days, your supply will increase to meet the demand, and most babies will level off and go back to a more predictable schedule. Also, many babies will ‘cluster feed’ in the evenings before going to sleep. This is a normal pattern for a breastfed baby. Formula fed babies also have fussy periods in the evening, but their mothers don’t have a built-in way to comfort them, so they cry more.

I'm 5 1/2 weeks postpartum and am just getting 5oz combined! @lovinjax91415 is spot on w the cluster feeding! I read an article on it. I felt like my son was starving because it seemed like all he wanted to do was nurse for a few hours at a time. Definitely read up on it momma! Your milk will come in with demand for sure!

very true @norcalmomma my milk was slow I thought something was wrong I was pumping like a mad woman since my son son couldnt nurse due to surgery. but once it came .....it came I was filling 5oz bottles in 2-4mins or less lol don't worry @h_mother0322 it's coming

@lovinjax91415, I was freaking out! I was pumping and nursing then trying to feed him what I pumped while he slept to make sure he was getting enough. Lol!

l know the feeling @norcalmomma it's like we're walking cows milk on demand lol but now my son pretty much sleeps thru the night so I only wake up once or twice over night to feed him if he wakes up . but I'm still up either way I'm still on that crazy schedule from 4months ago lol

yea my little man wakes up once or twice throughout the night but I wake up at least one extra time to pump for relief. I'm trying to get milk stored up for when I get back to work anyways though.
