Btw I just wanted to be happy this pregnancy and stress free, but I can't shake this. I thought I was doing way better than I was, to see in not. Now I feel like everyone still sees me as a charity case, like everyone seen with my daily growing up. Unfortunately I grew up in the ghetto, but I joined the military after graduating high school. Bad part is I never wanted to ever be on government assistance, but while we hit a bump I am not going to let my kids starve.

Hold your head up high, take care of your beautiful family. Show everyone your strength and courage. There's a light at the end of the tunnel if you keep working hard. She should be happy that you are all fed and working on becoming independent from the government. It's hard when you're feeling so judged but just do what you need to for your family.

I had to stuck up how I felt about assistance because I didn't want to seem i was taking advantage. but I'm not, I'm doing it for my kids, if it want for them i wouldn't be in it. but it helps, because i cook more& i know my daughter has a healthy diet.....

girl you can hold your head up, you are working to get off of it and your mother in law can keep her mouth shut.... you have to do what you need to do to care for your family, if that means snap benefits for a while then so freaking be it.... I had snap benefits when I was pregnant with my son due to being off work (I worked at aldi making just over $11 an hour, but short term disability isn't a full paycheck)... does she know how her one son treated his twin? maybe if she knew the whole story she would understand, he needed the help before but was probably shamed into not getting it

@sarahdrew, she doesn't know, because my husband wasn't the one who told. His twin forever told her, that my husband wasn't the one who paid rent. Well when I got there, when his brother put his half down. I put it in my wallet, and when rent came I gave it my husband and they both finally paid rent. I tell you I did some stupid shit, but I have changed. Btw it's not drugs or nothing, I was a brat and acted it. But I have changed, I thought they have seen it. Now I mean I have up so much for the family, and all she sees is he got on food stamps. I never regret what I gave up, because I love my kids. And my kids are far more important than that uniform. Also I wanted my husband to get further in it, and they would of not let him if I stayed in.

you are welcome mama, I would never judge someone who is in your situation, or any situation (unless I know they are "working the system" I know a few of those, which you are NOT one of them)

@sarahdrew, honestly this is the first time I ever put out I was on foodstamps, that's one thing we don't brag about. We just try to live, and make it.

don't feel down love you do what you have to do for your family she had no right to say that knowing me I would of snapped but then its your husband job to put his mom in her place he shouldnt of let her just say that and get away with it its not even my situation but it made me mad because of how she came at u he never got on food stamps until he got with you smh keep your head up tho @melinda89
