@chinadoll_nuk, it's reassuring once you have ultrasounds also. You never completely know you just pray for a healthy baby!

@mamabee, my point exactly every time I go to the obgyn they take my weight, blood pressure, I pee and then they check the heartbeat and say see you in two weeks

they can tell they're healthy by listening to the heartbeat because if something was wrong baby's heart rate would drop drastically

@arijane316, so how do they check and make sure the baby havent hot wrapped up in the umbilical cord etc all the things that can go wrong. if ppl can never answer your questions then why should u even trust them

Generally if the umbilical cord were wrapped around the baby in a position that were threatening to the baby, his or her heart rate would be decreased. But I understand your frustration.

its common for baby's to get wrapped up in the cord. my daughter was born with the cord around her neck and she was and is just fine. even if the baby is wrapped in it, there's nothing they can do about it until you give birth. if you're really going to be so mistrusting of your doctor, find a new one. but to be completely honest, and not trying to be rude, I think you're overreacting just a bit. doctors can only do so much while youre pregnant. you can't get mad at them for things they have no current control over. if you have questions that can be answered without unnecessary tests, firmly but kindly ask your doctor. but until 36 weeks, that's all you're going to get is measurements, your vitals and weight and heartbeat check. unless you tell them you're worried about something, they won't do anything else.

@arijane316, we'll I get more answers here than anything I ask the things they say let me go ask such and such or idk let me check. how you trust someone who doesn't know just like you I'm learning.

some doctors are more experienced than others and have seen and dealt with more things than others. mine did it too and I still kept my trust in her and my daughter is 100% healthy

the baby's heart rate is a great indicator on how baby is doing, if they see something concerning on a ultrasound they will do more us to check whatever and make sure baby's growing correctly. they also measure your belly, the number of inches should match up with how many weeks your are give or take 1 or 2 inches. it's also important to tell your dr what's been going on if anything so if they need to do more testing they can. my daughter had her cord around her neck 3 times and she is a perfect 10 month old.
