it's said to be bad for u..I can't think of the condition it causes but I heard it was painful. .like the weight of your uterus blocks off some important vain in mommy causing it to be painful to walk etc

They say the weight of your uterus puts pressure on your main vain that runs through the cord and it causes the baby not to be able to get the oxygen it needs. I slept on my back the whole pregnancy and everything's fine. But I put pillows behind me to prop up some. They just mean do lay flat.

I still find myself sleeping on my back a lot, sometimes it's the only way I can sleep. my baby boy is doing really well still, but I am propped up a little like @soldiersgirl0315 said.

I sleep on my back and my baby is doing fine and so am I. It doesn't hurt to walk and he moves up a storm. I'll probably stop when he gets too big but right now it's the only way I can sleep sometimes because my ribs hurt when I lay on my sides.
