Was talking to my husband the other night about how some men aren't ready to be a father and settle down. He told me the military really put him in check. Then stated if he was still in the military and ever started to not be a good husband/father or provider all I would have to do is tell his commander. The military would but him back in check extremely fast. I'm just glad I never had to and that he's so excited to be a dad. All he talks about and hates leaving for work since our little girl is coming so soon. I'm so glad I have a man like him and I wouldn't trade him in for the world. Can't wait. until Friday to be induced and meet our little girl.

You could always tell his commander if he gets out of hand. One of his Sargent would always tell me when my husband was in the military that if my husband messed up on being a husband to let him know. Would put him in his place and rearrange him. But that was the base he was at and the branch he was in. Idk how your husband's Sargent are and if they would do anything but it's really not acceptable in the military. @cheche27

My ex husbands COC didn't give two shits that he was an abusive dick. It was more of an inconvenience to them that the cops kept getting called for domestic battery. His 1SGT would even crack jokes about our home situation during end of day formation telling all the soldiers not to beat their wives, "or if you're Stough, don't let your wife beat you." They thought it was funny that it was possible he was abusing me because I was 6" taller than him. His first line even told me straight up that the only reason he ever asked me if I was ok or if there was anything he could do for me when my ex kept getting arrested was because he was obligated to as part of his training. Three years at that duty station and not only did he slip through their legal system after numerous arrests, he managed to stay in for 2 more years at a different duty station before he finally got discharged for behavior unbecoming of a soldier when his then-gf reported him for domestic assault.

Wow that's alot. The bases my husband was ever placed at didn't mess around. He always had very strict Sargents even if the men lined up 10 seconds late everyone would lose their privileges. So when it came to being a good husband, father and provider was no joke. @babyreeves

Well Ft.Riley was a shit hole. His leadership was so toxic it wasn't even funny. If they had been nearly the support system they were meant to, my son and I wouldn't have faced half of the abuse at his hands that we did, and I bet this new woman wouldn't had either. Even when we were at Ft.Sam Houston, his chain of command could care less. I left him and moved to Tucson, AZ to get away from the abuse after 5 years and they didn't even enforce him paying child support. He had another woman whom he proposed to(a fellow soldier) living in our apartment less than 2 weeks after I moved out and they were more than aware of it and didn't give a damn that he was violating the military code of justice with adultery.

Oh damn. yeah my husband was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood and Ft. Gordon. Very strict about violating the military code of adultery expecially Ft. Leonard Wood. Sorry you and you boy had to go through all that. The military should have done their job correctly to protect you two. @babyreeves
