Is anyone else throwing their own baby shower? People have made me feel so crappy about throwing my own 🙁 a few people said they wanted to throw it, but no one came through and if I don't do it, I know I won't get one at all. So since we are doing it ourselves, we decided to steer away from the traditional "baby shower" and are doing a "baby celebration." So we are having more of a BBQ and pool party with baby games and things added to it. I just can't help but to be a little hurt that people are giving me crap saying how shitty it is that I'm throwing it myself, but no one stepped up. I've just been biting my tongue and pushing it aside, because it's about Celebrating our baby boy, so I don't mind doing it! I just want it to be perfect and feel so selfish that I'm hurt by it 😕 sorry for the rant, I've just been holding it in and wanted to get input from other ladies!

@savannamarie, well I don't feel so bad then! Everyone keeps telling me people aren't supposed tondo their own and blah blah blah. But I think it's kind of fun to plan! Just makes me feel like crap when they sit and talk crap only because it's me doing it.

When I first got pregnant I had like 5 people tell me they wanted to throw me a baby shower. I'm almost 25 weeks and no one has said anything about invitations or anything like that, so my boyfriend and I are planning it together. Don't feel bad, I don't see why people are giving you crap about throwing it yourself.

@dmartinez, yeah, my fiancé is doing it with me! He's been so sweet and is so cute giving ideas! Lol. He's all excited, so it makes it better! It's mainly my mom and family telling me that I obviously have shitty friends. It's like seriously? Why do I want to hear the negativity? Ugh!

Same thing is happening to me. I had people offer to throw me one but none of them came through. I'm getting pressured to have one though and I'm already tight on money so it's just stressing me out.

none of my friends offered to throw me a shower with my first, so my mom did (which isn't "traditional ") and I helped her. I was hurt too that no one else offered.

you know what i was not sure if that was something i could do lol i mean i didn't want people to think of me as tacky but i dont have many friends so...to know their are other women who are thinking the same way i am good luck with your shower and i support your idea!!!
