do mommies who are breastfeeding eat spicy food?
since my baby was born I left out of my diet beans, broccoli, etc like all food that will make you gassy, but now I eat it a little bit
but Im so scared of eating spicy food, or lemon, and you know as a mexican is super hard lol but I've made it this far, now my baby is 8 months and Im using formula but continue breastfeeding (but planning to stop soon),
my baby never had colics or anything like that, and my grandma told me once babies usually get colics in their first month of life, and they last months.. so she thinks if he didn't got any back then is less likely for him to get it now but I dont know:C
so thats my fear:/

my daughter had colic between 3 weeks and 10 weeks, but that was it and I think it was genetic anyways cause I was colicky... I eat whatever I want, because fibers from fibrous foods can't travel through the liquid breastmilk (so gassy foods won't make baby gassy). I've always eaten spicy stuff too. imagine what women in other cultures do, like Thai or Spanish cultures. their spices are almost lethal they're so hot, but mommies still have to feed their babies (:

Oh yeah totally safe, I cut out the same in the first 2 months, after 3 months his tummy can handle a lot more including spicy, my son is 7 weeks and I eat spicy but still no gassy foods or eggs or any dairy.

I was very strict too but that's o ky because their tummies are very sensitive in the beginning and can't handle a lot but after 3 months I know for sure u can eat anything and everything just limit caffeine
