Ekkk I'm definitely asking them to do a sweep at my 38 week appt.

@gabpeterman21, my doctor did it like 5times around. Boy was it intense. Felt a little nauseous after. And I've been having mild contractions since about an hour after.

Ugh. And I hate exams. But I think if she's not here by then it will all be worth it because I've been having contractions for days now and they just aren't long enough for them to keep me @carterclaytonb

is there a reason you don't want to wait until baby comes on its own? one to two weeks early doesn't seem like alot but in a baby time it is.

I know I see people post about "let your baby come on its own" and yes that's my plan. I'm not trying to "force" him out. A membrane sweep is safe and effective. And I also know that nothing will "make" my baby come unless he ready to anyway. This is my second child and I had to be induced with my first which almost resulted in a c-section so I'm doing what I feel is safe to help my baby come before a medical intervention is needed. I'll be 39 weeks in two days so I don't think that there's anything wrong with what I'm doing. @machelle137

@much elle137, I am in just about the same situation. My dr is really trying to avoid using pitocin to induce me. I am almost 37 weeks with an iugr baby at 4% on growth. Meaning she's extremely small. She is no longer getting what she needs from the placenta because it has already started to deteriorate so we are trying everything we can to not stress her out too much with the sudden onset of an induction. My rate for a c section with her size and condition is about 85-90%
