Yes, you can argue that it's right too, lol it's not correct unless they're flying and the seat is not in the base

I was just asking. and my carseat says that mine can be put in that way even with the base. not every seat is made to install the same exact way. idk if hers had the base or not. but I know mine, a brand new safety first carseat, says to hook it in in a similar way if there isn't a place to anchor it in in a car.. idk how all she had it set up, I wasn't paying that much attention. but some car seats do say to have the seat belt in similar positions.

Not being rude just being up front to not have a bunch of the same comments on here. It did look like it was clicked into some sort of base, and I am aware that every carseat is different and installs differently. That was a generic post from baby center stating that having the belt over the top ends up putting tension on the seat and base.@littlemissrainesmommy

hmm... oh well. maybe her seat was designed specifically for that? again not every car seat is made the same way.

we used a seat belt to hold our car seat in, I didn't see the picture but I knew it was right because the fire department installed it for me and taught me how to do it and we could do it with the base and without it. he showed me both ways.

Yes it just didn't seem right to me, I could be wrong and I'd love to be corrected, but I just don't think it's installed correctly

I've never seen that before, I think the belt should have gone under and not over. but the slots look like that's where they should be. I've never seen a car seat like that. @vb95

I looked at those seats and it completely wrong. those little slots are where the seat cover connects and disconnects so you can remove and wash it. @vb95

I think since none of are experts and are relying on professor google, we should just tell this mommy that she should go to a highway patrol station or fire department and ask if it's correct. no need to put people on blast like this. no one wants to be publicly slammed, whether she's wrong or right.

best thing to do go to a local police department or fire dept. they will show you how to properly installed carseat. that's what I did just to make sure.

The way my car seat is it can be like that if you don't have a base. But it shouldn't be facing that way. And if she has a base the belt should go through it instead of how it is. 🤔 I do see where you are coming from though.

it is public... i'm just saying that it's better to private message them and tell them they should go get it checked out.... but for post purposes, this is the directions on my carseat. hers could be different I guess, she has a different car seat than me. it's not my business. she's an adult and can get it checked.

The seat belt should go through the base not the seat! If there is no base then this would be acceptable!

To each is own, I wouldn't double up my car seat like that based on what I've read @hellokarly I commented on her post and I really don't think she was interested in hearing my opinions or views so I don't think she was interested in hearing anything I had to say@kattastrophe

I am a mother of 6 soon to be 7. If she tries to leave the hospital with it like that they will call child protective services and take the baby back inside the hospital!

No it's either or, if you have a base the belt goes through that but if you don't have a base it goes directly through the seat itself.

I'm more concerned about the safety of her child then hurting her feelings, that's what this boils down to @kattastrophe

it seems more like trying to make her look bad in front of multiple people. just say your 2 cents on her post and move on with your life. she'll do what she'll do no matter what anyways. if you want to help other moms, you don't have to use her as an example. just post the info. if you ever made a mistake, I doubt you'd want it presented like this. I know I wouldnt.
