don't assume everytime they check your urine at your appointment that they're checking for a uti cause they're not.. every time I go everything is "going great" according to my dr but my uti got bad enough to cause contractions and my last check I was 2 cm-3 cm dilated at only 27 weeks pregnant. if you have questions ask.. the only sign of a uti i had was peeing a lot but ive been doing that my whole pregnancy so i ignored it. my nurse kept telling me oh you'll know when you're having contractions and I still don't know what they feel like. now I'm being watched very carefully and they're considering me high risk for a untreated uti. I initially came in for back pain which I wasn't going to do since I had a appointment on Monday but I couldn't take the pain any longer. if it hurts long enough go get it checked.

I started bleeding and had a uti and went to L&D as well. but I've had UTIs my whole pregnancy and the develop so fast.

I had a uti that turned into a kidney infection that turned into an infection in my blood stream so I always ask to be checked for an uti

They only check for protein and sugar in your urine when they test it...

The back pain is a symptom of a UTI also ... Once you are in the clear try taking probiotics for vaginal health .. There's a brand by Ultimate flora that i take and it helps prevent UTIs, yeast infections, and BV... It's a once a day pill that is kept refrigerated but it has helped me tremendously ...

I messed my back, my hip and my knees up in the army and the pain comes every so often that's why I really think nothing of it. I got a couple of shots and everything will be fine now but I will have to take a pill to stop contractions from coming while at home on bed rest. @babymillersmomm
